Countryside appeal launched for warm clothes for Ukraine
British Game Assurance (BGA) is appealing to the countryside community to donate warm clothing and essential supplies urgently, as its director of operations, Louisa Clutterbuck, plans a second journey to the country at the end of December.
Earlier this year, Louisa travelled to the Ukraine border to donate food, toiletries, medical supplies and more. Louisa is now embarking on a second journey on December 28th, this time planning to drive across the border to get as close to Dnipro as possible while remaining safe.
The BGA’s Countryside Appeal aims to collect as many unwanted warm coats, jumpers and thermals from our shooting community as possible.
Louisa said: “As soon I returned from my visit to the Ukraine border in May, I decided that I would go again later in the year, when the winter months and dwindling donations mean the people of Ukraine need our support the most. I have a friend who has been out in Ukraine since the war began and I aim to meet her near Dnipro with lots of warm clothing and essentials to keep the people going. I would be so grateful for any donations you are able to give.”
Marcus Janssen, brand and sales director for Schöffel and Le Chameau, added: “As this current cold snap in the UK takes hold, it is a timely reminder for those of us who are lucky enough to have warm, safe homes to go to, that there are so many who do not – such as those whose lives have been turned upside down by the war in Ukraine.
“Thankfully, there are brilliant organisations, charities and individuals out there who work tirelessly for those who are genuinely in need. Like Louisa Clutterbuck from British Game Assurance, who, for a second time this year, is going to be driving out to Ukraine to deliver desperately needed warm, winter clothes to people who have been so adversely affected by a war that they have now had to endure for almost 10 months.
“But she needs as many donations of warm clothes as possible. So if you have a coat or jumper that you no longer need, please do get in touch with her via the BGA website. And if you would like to make a cash donation for food and medical supplies, you can do so here.”
