How has Covid-19 affected you?
Do you think that Coronavirus has brought communities closer together or pushed us further apart? Do you have concerns about how divided we are becoming as a society, or that different parts of the country feel increasingly distant from one another?
The Countryside Alliance is encouraging its members to participate in a major new survey which asks these important questions.
The Countryside Alliance has long been concerned about divisive portrayals of rural-urban differences, which often serve to stereotype rural communities and marginalise their contribution to national life.
Coronavirus has brought back to the fore conversations about the importance of community life, about how we can tackle social isolation and bridge divides in our society. The CA thinks it is important that the voice and experiences of rural communities are heard in these conversations.
It has joined /Together, a coalition of organisations from household names like the NHS, the Scouts and the National Federation of Women’s Institutes, to local community organisations.
/Together aims to bring people together and bridge divides, to help build a kinder, closer and more connected society. The coalition is now running Talk/together: the UK’s biggest-ever conversation about what divides us, what unites us and what will bring us closer together.
Countryside Alliance members are being invited to get involved in this by taking the survey – it should only take five minutes.
