Improve your Spey casting with Mackenzie’s masterclass

Game Fair exhibitor and demonstrator Scott Mackenzie is offering more fly fishing and casting masterclasses for 2023, to improve your angling skills.

For the coming year he will be running four separate three-day and

night courses incorporating fly casting instruction and fishing on the River Ness at Ness-Side over two prime weeks of the season.

Each course will cover every aspect of fishing and casting, including in-depth fly casting instruction covering all the different Spey casts off both shoulders, reading the water, where to fish (and avoid), fly selection, knots, wading safety and many other techniques.

Scott said: “I’ve been running the casting school for 20 years now and, over the years, many clients have asked for a course just like this where they can learn to fish and improve their fly casting at the same time, and these courses deliver this,

“We have booked the Holm Lodge again at Ness-side, a beautiful lodge with fantastic facilities. It has six double rooms, all with their own bathroom. We will also have our own private chef on hand to do all the meals this includes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all to a very high standard, we will also be covering all drinks, including spirits, beer and wine, at dinner.”

This is a luxurious 3-night stay at the lodge with casting instruction, fishing on an all-inclusive basis, with an all-in cost of £1,299 with a maximum of six people per course.

Non-fishing partners are also welcome but there is limited availability on each course and spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dates are Sunday to Wednesday, August 6th to 9th, Wednesday to Saturday, August 9th to 12th, Sunday to Wednesday, August 27th to 30th and Wednesday to Saturday, August 30th to September 2nd.
