After a sprinkle of rain this morning the grounds of Ragley Hall were just perfect for the second day of The Game Fair – as the sun came out on our annual celebration of the great British countryside.

The early birds were out on famous Gunmakers’ Row, presented by Pulsar, as the shooting community gathered to enjoy the most complete shooting exhibition anywhere in the UK. Aisles and aisles of amazing products from literally hundreds of brands from around the globe including a glorious range of new and used shotguns, rifles and airguns, accessories and clothing.

Join us as we take a trip along the Row and meet a selection of exhibitors:

Hawke Optics was showcasing the new Nocpix Bolt scopes P25 and L35 which are aimed at entry level users.  For beginners, the Nocpix Bolt makes it easier with customisable reticles, adjustable shooting settings and seven colour palettes to suit different environments. Plus, seamless app connectivity enabling personalisation and sharing of all your hunts.  With a 12-hour battery the Bolt can also be used over longer periods of time.  Mark Charnel, UK Sales for Hawke, UK importer for Nocpix, is a fan of these two very cost-effective thermal bolts saying, “We have been so busy on our stand with lots of interest in the product, it’s been above expectations so we are very happy.”

Rob Compton from Best Fox Call brought a new range of oak hand turned calls to the show.  “I found some old oak in the barn and decided to have a go at making some hand-crafted callers.  The first one was for Roe deer, then I added in Fox and Fallow deer to make a set.  I think the oak softens the call and gives a more natural feel.”

Ian Sweetman a stalwart of Gunmakers Row is exhibiting in his own right as I. S. Sweetman Gun and Rifle Makers Ltd for the first time. “So far, this Game Fair has exceeded our expectations, we are really enjoying it.  Who wouldn’t, talking about gun making all day!”

Another much admired Gunmaker taking the step to exhibit in its own right is Rizzini.  Situated in the Premier area of Gunmakers Row the stand is elegant and cool.  Edward King, Managing Director of ASI, exclusive UK distributor for Rizzini, was another exhibitor to be pleased with the footfall so far,  “It’s really enjoyable to be able to take the time to go into more detail on the Rizzini brand and the different Game, Competition and fine customised shotguns on offer.”

Finally, we popped into Crow and Jester to catch up with founder Simon Horsley, we arrived just as he was finishing measurements for some bespoke tailoring. The stand was buzzing and as Simon finished with his client, we just had time to ask him how it was going. “It’s just been brilliant we are so busy and people are buying – that’s what we’re here for, among people who value both the quality and tradition of the tweeds we use,” he said.
