ON THE WATER DEMOS
Whatever type of fishing you enjoy, you shouldn’t miss the Demo Pontoon on the lake. Top anglers including Hywel Morgan, Chris Hague, Jo Stephenson, Scott Mackenzie, David Ballington and many more will be showcasing their skills and offering some sagely wisdom.
With literally hundreds of years’ experience between them, you’re bound to pick up some tips – or simply sit back and admire their casting expertise or be enthralled by their stories.

HAVE A GO!
Want to catch your first fish or pick up some tips? Then the Angling Trades Association’s Get Into Fishing initiative is the best way to start.Canal & River Trust coaches will be on hand to help you fish the estate lake. Will you catch roach, gudgeon, bream, perch or one of the lake’s resident carp?

CASTSPRO COMPETITION
If you fancy the chance of winning a splendid trophy and some cash then David Ballington and his Castpro team will be beside the lake, too, running some fantastic competitions – both on land and in the water. Have you got what it takes to walk away with £200 and the stunning Castspro Game Fair Trophy?

BFCC CASTING COMPETITIONS
If your casting skills are already strong then why not compete for a range of great prizes, supplied by popular exhibitor and retailer Garry Evans Tackle Centres.

Once again, the British Fly Casting Club will be holding its popular casting competitions on the river. With categories for single-handed trout distance, accuracy, double-handed overhead salmon for men, women and juniors (17 and under) there really is something for everyone. Could you win a prize?

Head to the Landing Stage Fishing Theatre where you can pose fishing questions to some of our many guests, watch the latest fishing films, discover fishing in Ireland ana new fishing app, dive beneath the water with filmmaker Mark Barrow to get up close to different species in our rivers, get your old fishing line recycled and turned into new tackle with the Anglers’ National Line Recycling Scheme team and even learn about vintage tackle with antiques expert Victor Bonutto.With more guests still to be announced, it’s a great place to while away your time.

FLY TYING AND CASTING
Tying your own flies is a real art but the expert fly tyers from Turrall will be on hand throughout the weekend to teach you just how to master this amazing skill.
If you prefer to get more hands on and cast a line yourself then the instructors from Fly Fishers International will be showing you how to get a handle on fly casting, either on land or on the water.
