The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme is the largest pet dog training programme in the UK. Established in 1992 the scheme promotes socially acceptable dogs and encourages dog owners to recognise the responsibilities they have in owning a dog.

To date, over 1700 dog training clubs participate and promote the scheme’s four award levels with over 760,000 owners and dogs having passed and received a certificate.  The Scheme incorporates simple exercises like walking on a lead with distractions, grooming, stay on lead, recall and basic control exercises.
