The Game Fair announces The Country Food Trust is its official charity for 2022

The Game Fair has announced that The Country Food Trust, founded in 2015, to provide free, nutritious game-based meals to those in food poverty, is its charity partner for the 2022 event. The two organisations partnered for the first time in 2021, and this year the aim is to raise even more money to help the charity feed more people in need.
The Country Food Trust is a registered charity which donates game-based meals to some of the 8.4 million people in food poverty in the UK. The charity’s focus is on providing people with free high protein, low fat meals. The current menu includes pheasant curry, venison bolognese and pheasant casserole. The meals are supplied in 300g retort pouches and 2kg catering packs, which both have a shelf life of one year and do not need to be refrigerated. The Country Food Trust also donates frozen meat to charities with their own cooking facilities, allowing them to get creative and even teach their beneficiaries about cooking nutritious meals.
The Country Food Trust has donated over 2.5 million meals to people in need since its inception, and The Game Fair is the perfect place to spread the word about the charity’s work. This much-loved celebration of the British countryside heads back to Ragley Hall in Warwickshire following a triumphant return in 2021 which saw nearly 120,000 visitors enjoying the event over three days. The Country Food Trust will be represented by its team, trustees, ambassadors and patrons both on its stand and in the Carter Jonas Theatre, sharing the story behind the charity and the positive impact of its work.
The Country Food Trust CEO SJ Hunt commented:
“We are very excited to be heading back to The Game Fair this July. We are all aware that the cost of living is rising exponentially, pushing more families into food poverty. Our work is therefore more vital now than ever. Having the support of The Game Fair last year was an enormous boost to our profile and we hope that the very generous support we received will be replicated again.”
The Game Fair managing director James Gower adds: “The Game Fair is a firm fixture in the diary for all sorts of different people with one thing in common – they are passionate about the British countryside. The Country Food Trust does an amazing job taking game from shoots and estates and turning it into healthy meals to feed people in need up and down the country. It’s the perfect fit and we hope to raise their profile and help raise vital funds this coming summer. Please visit them on their stand and donate whatever you can spare.”
