There’s just one more sleep until the gates open for The Game Fair 2026 and we can’t wait! As Thursday afternoon comes to a close the rumble of buggies is quieting and the many high viz jacketed exhibitors and organisers are making their finishing touches.
This years’ event is a real mix of all the traditional and heritage rural activities we have come to expect but for this year we have some new developments to look forward to. The beating heart of The Game Fair has always been Gunmakers Row and new for this year is The Gunmakers Theatre which offers visitors the opportunity to meet some of the most respected names in the shooting industry. Craftsmen, instructors, technical experts and industry specialists will share their knowledge, answer questions and provide insight into every aspect of the gun trade.
Another must visit is the new Modern Ruralist Craft Yard where we open a new chapter for traditional crafts. Curated in collaboration with The Modern Ruralist – a storyteller who champions the people, skills and traditions that are still so important to the UK countryside today. Don’t miss the live wheelwright demonstration, Devon stave basket making, axe making and dry stone walling. Hear the stories of the craft and the people who are passionate about their craft.
Dog lovers will find plenty to enjoy at The Game Fair, from working dog competitions, demonstrations, agility and scurries to the new Meet the Breeds area, where experts can introduce countryside breeds and help you choose the perfect companion. Keeping dogs cool is also a priority, with new 2026 attraction The Dog Splash, and doggy diving competitions everyday at 4pm.
As if that isn’t enough – Friday is Welligogs Ladies Day. The event was created to celebrate the incredible style of the countryside. So, many visitors put a lot of effort into their look for The Game Fair and we like to reward their effort. Our scouts will be walking around the show in the morning and inviting people to come along to the Welligogs stand at 2pm on Friday. We’re looking for an outfit that is synonymous with The Game Fair, practical, classy and stylish. Anyone can enter, just dress your best and wait to be scouted.
Other competitions on Friday include; Flycasting at the Fishing Village by the lake, the HPR Home International for working dogs and Rally Clays a daily head-to-head shooting challenge.
Plan your weekend at The Game Fair here. Tickets still available here. Just one more sleep…
