Friday marked a fantastic Welligogs Ladies Day, a large crowd of supporters and Welligogs followers gathered at the stand for the Judging to commence.  A fixture in The Game Fair calendar now the event celebrates country sartorial style, and the competitors relished showcasing their meticulously crafted outfits.

The judges conferred after each entrant strutted their stuff.  Ashley Cooper and Lee Hurst from The Game Fair, Brontë Mitchell, editor in chief from Femme Country Magazine, and Natasha Edwards our 2025 Welligogs Ladies Day winner all put their heads together to select the outfit of the show.

Susanne Woods won with an inspired Holland Cooper ensemble in Leverett tweed.  The full circle skirt which was matched to a waistcoat in the same fabric was actually a bespoke Holland Cooper piece specially requested by Susanne.

The outfit was teamed with a white short sleeve blouse and Hayton Shoot tie from Susanne’s local shoot.  Finished off with Fairfax and Favour boots and handbag with a flash of colourful Claire Haggas Game Fair scarf.  A watch chain which belonged to Susanne’s grandad gave that special touch.

“I really wasn’t expecting to win,” Susanne commented.  The Game Fair is a special weekend for me and my sister in law.  Our husbands both love cars and go to Goodwood but we come here for the weekend and they carry the shopping.”

Ashley Cooper, Commercial Director at Stable Events, organisers of The Game Fair, summed Ladies Day up, “This is my favourite part of The Game Fair, the participants have made such a massive effort and we really appreciate that.  The atmosphere is always fabulous, and I look forward to it every year.”
