His Grace, The Duke of Marlborough, opened the 66th Game Fair at Blenheim Palace on Thursday morning saying, “Blenheim Palace is not only a historical monument but also a living, breathing estate that embodies the values and traditions that The Game Fair celebrates.” We could not have put it better. Join us as we give you a taste of the show so far as we take a look at some of the country issues discussed at the Carter Jonas Game Fair Theatre and other show highlights.
Friday features included Vinnie Jones talking mental health issues and hosting an auction to raise funds for the Gamekeepers Welfare Trust and Roy Cox, Managing Director of the Blenheim Estate talking about the vibrant and flourishing estate we are all enjoying.
Saturday brought us a busy and diverse mix from DEFRA Minister, Daniel Zeichner MP and regular Game Fair visitor Greg Smith MP covering some of the nitty gritty political matters of the day, from hedge laying to Eating Wild and Marina Gibson on women fishing brought more interesting and entertaining debate to the packed theatre.
Sunday brings us everything from pigeon shooting star Dan Thor to Nicole Moore (@shootinggirl_with_an_afro), a great ambassador for hunting and shooting. She explains her love of the countryside. Sandwiched between supper chefs James Martin and Dick Strawbridge last on stage this afternoon.
The Game Fair is such an incredibly wide reflection of the countryside with our visitors bumping into old friends and making new ones. Finding out about developments in Land and Management, diversification, technology and running estates. Eating and drinking is a major focus too and, of course, shopping – don’t forget no high street can compete with the variety of products on offer at The Game Fair with over 600 exhibitors ranging from well-known brands to small artisan creators of special and precious items.
There really is something for everyone here at The Game Fair!
