Machinery Nation were always going to draw a crowd at The Game Fair, owing to their mass following online supporting their in-depth reviews of all tool and machinery brands for ground care, forestry, landscaping, agriculture and construction.

They entered the last day of The Game Fair at full throttle, kicking off the morning session on Sunday the same way they have for the whole weekend, with their Chainsaw Challenge. The demo saw Lars, James and Josh compete in a series of chainsaw related contests, working with a selection of brands – including Milwaukee, DeWalt, STIHL, Iseki, and Can-Am – to see who would come out on top.

With a timber-filled arena, the crowd-pleasing event was the relay. This saw Lars and James of Machinery Nation go head-to-head in a series of technical challenges – from a simple timber cut, to a small obstacle course cut along a trunk – simulating a tree surgeon’s daily experience, before moving onto the crowd-favourite of trimming a tree balancing a cup of water, to finally a straight stab through a tree trunk where two colour-filled balloons were consequently popped.

They also demonstrated the long-lasting power of the vintage machines, with Lars and Josh demonstrating a simple timber cut with their 70-year-old and 50-year-old saws. Throughout these tests, they also continued to educate the crowds, explaining the differences between petrol and battery powered saws, as well as how it isn’t necessarily the most powerful saw that comes out on top.

Whether you’re a seasoned petrol-head looking for your next saw, or simply want to see some action-packed machinery fun, Machinery Nation have two more demonstrations on before The Game Fair closes, with Compact Tractor Factor at 12pm, and Tame The Terrain (ATV vs UTV) at 2pm.
