Aim to Sustain – a partnership of major shooting organisations – has written to the new Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to outline issues facing the sector and its readiness to work with Government to manage the challenges facing the countryside.

The letter to the Rt Hon Therese Coffey MP explains that Aim to Sustain partner organisations employ leading experts with unrivalled knowledge and experience of the benefits that can be delivered in wider biodiversity and habitat recovery.

It has been signed by the heads of major shooting groups including Ian Bell at BASC, Tim Bonner at the Countryside Alliance, the CLA’s Mark Tufnell, Teresa Dent from GWCT, Liam Stokes from British Game Assurance, Amanda Anderson from the Moorlands Association and more.

The Aim To Sustain partnership works to promote and protect game shooting and associated wildlife habitats in the UK. It supports
sustainable and responsible shooting, environmental balance, animal welfare, local communities and the rural way of life.

It also highlights how sustainable game management and shooting deliver real and measurable net gain for native wildlife. Aim to Sustain is committed to promoting continuous development and improvement of standards.
