Charles Stanley sponsors The Game Fair’s ‘smartest’ ever show garden
Following the success of the partnership in 2019, leading wealth managers Charles Stanley are sponsoring The Game Fair’s show-stopping ‘smart’ garden in 2020.
The three-day outdoor festival of the countryside is taking place in the familiar surroundings of Ragley Hall in Warwickshire on new dates, Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September.
The 25×45 metre garden is being created by around 50 students from two local land-based colleges – Moreton Morrell and Pershore – under the watchful eye of horticultural and landscape lecturer Mike Roberts.
This year’s theme will showcase how ‘smart’ a garden can be. The quadrant design is divided into a ‘Water-Wise’ area which will demonstrate new ways rainfall can be harvested. As well as drought tolerant planting and sustainable drainage. Another cutting-edge area will demonstrate how ‘smart’ technology can be utilised in outside spaces including energy generation and living walls which complements the ‘Smart Production’ area that highlights vertical growing systems and hydroponics. The final quarter is the ‘Friends & Foes’ area which showcases how gardeners can encourage beneficial insects and organisms.
Charles Stanley’s John Porteous, Group Head of Distribution commented:
“Many of our clients are passionate about gardening and we are delighted to be able to provide the opportunity for them to join us at this spectacular show.
The smart and environmental theme is particularly close to our hearts as our commitment to sustainable investing grows. Investors of all ages are increasingly interested in socially responsible investing and our own research shows that demand is set to accelerate.”
The Game Fair’s Gemma Payne, Head of Marketing added: “We are delighted to welcome back Charles Stanley as official sponsor of the show garden for a second consecutive year. It is a great fit for their brand which has always developed and pushed boundaries throughout its 200-year history. This year’s theme of ‘smartness’ is set to stretch the imagination of visitors and inspire them to incorporate modern technology and ideas into their own gardens.”
