First INEOS Grenadier rolls off assembly line

Customers will shortly be getting their heads on the INEOS Grenadier as the very first vehicle from the newest name in 4x4s has rolled off the production line.

The workforce at INEOS’ giant manufacturing facility in Hambach, France, gathered to mark the important moment.

Mark Tennant, INEOS Automotive’s commercial director, said: “We’ve come a long way since the project kicked off in 2017 and this is a landmark moment for INEOS Automotive as a vehicle manufacturer.”

Visitors to this summer’s Game Fair were among the first to see prototypes of the Grenadier 4×4 in the inspiring estate setting of Ragley Hall.

Designed specifically following extensive research involving prospective future Grenadier owners, the 4×4 is said to be hard-wearing, practical and simple – a tool to be used in different ways, by different people.

Complementing its rugged exterior, the interior favours analogue controls over electronics where possible, not to mention buttons, switches and dials designed for sue with wet hands or when wearing gloves.

While the Recaro seats are comfortable, they are durable too and INEOS has even used waterproof and stain-proof materials for the upholstery to ensure it last as long as the body.

Mark added: “Those who live and work in the countryside have been a significant part of our plans since the earliest days of the Grenadier’s development.

“Designed and engineered to be a durable, capable workhorse 4×4, we introduced the Grenadier to The Game Fair visitors, offering a glimpse of its capabilities on the off-road course.”
