Great ways to celebrate British Game Week

With British Game Week on the horizon next month, British Game Assurance (BGA) has released details of three events where you can get involved and join in the celebrations.
To mark the week – running from November 7th to 13th, there will be two ‘Celebration of Game’ dinners and a special finale at Holland & Holland Shooting Ground.
The first of will be held in London at Westminster Kingsway College on November 10th with the second in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, at Finzean Farmshop the following evening before BGA stockist Holland & Holland’s ‘Glorious Game’ event on November 12th.
William Sitwell, restaurant critic, broadcaster, author and host of the ‘Glorious Game’ event said: “Cooking with and eating game isn’t just a sensible, sustainable and natural way of life, it’s a delicious, exciting approach to food with endless and wonderful possibilities. I wish more of us could understand and share this great source of nutrition and pleasure, so I’m delighted that BGA are championing game with the help of Eat Wild; they are the invaluable go-to people for stockists and fabulous ideas.”
The week-long promotion will be a focus for events, dinners and special offers promoting game to consumers around the country. People will be encouraged to taste game for the first time and try new game products such as pies, sausages, burgers, and charcuterie.
BGA is asking the shooting community to save these dates not only to get behind the celebration, but to spend the week introducing new people to all that is great about local British game.
Louisa Clutterbuck, director of operations at British Game Assurance, added: “We are delighted to finally be able to celebrate during Great British Game Week at some fantastic establishments, after two tough years at home. By hosting events in both Scotland and England, we hope to reach as many new people as possible and share the delights of eating and cooking British game meat.”
The London event will feature a three-course dinner with mixed game bird terrine and roast pavé of venison, dessert plus a glass of wine on arrival.
BGA CEO, Liam Stokes will be on hand to discuss the benefits of eating wild game and outline plans the BGA has for the future.
Those attending in Scotland will feast on a venison seekh kebab, partridge tikka bites plus a pheasant and wild mushroom stroganoff along with dessert and wine on arrival.
Louisa Clutterbuck will be doing a talk at the event around the BGA and its plans for the future.
The Game Week finale will be Holland & Holland’s ‘Glorious Game’ event, hosted by William Sitwell in aid of the Country Food Trust, The Game Fair’s charity.
The event includes a morning of simulated game shooting followed by a 12-course tasting menu with wine pairing.
BGA Ambassador Chef Leon Challis-Davies will join Holland & Holland Head Chef, Joshua Hunter, Michelin-starred Mark Kempson and celebrity Ccef Valentine Warner to produce an exquisite tasting banquet, with all game at the event being BGA-assured.
