Gundogs get strong support from industry

Some of the industry’s best-loved brands have got behind this year’s Gundog Area at The Game Fair as it continues to grow.

With a range of experts on hand to offer all manner of advice, a long list of breeds on show in the Sporting Dog Pavilion plus competitions and demonstrations in the Working Dog Ring, it is always an exciting place to be.

This year gundogs at The Game Fair a further boost from three major brands – 4×4 expert Isuzu is sponsoring the area, Gundog Journal has become the official media partner while Sporting Saint is supplying much of the equipment being used for the events.

Isuzu is delighted to be sponsoring the Gundog Area, which it sees a core element of the event, helping the 4×4 specialist to broaden its involvement and exposure at the show.

George Wallis, Isuzu’s head of marketing, said: “It is an area and a show that we traditionally support every year due to the rural locations of the majority of our dealerships and the suitability of our product. The countryside and country pursuits are in our blood and part of the fabric of the Isuzu brand.

“The all-new Isuzu D-Max is also a perfect off-road vehicle for the sport, with a whole host of accessories like our range of dog cages and lockable gun drawers, it’s the perfect companion in this particular field. BASC members are also entitled to discounts on new Isuzu vehicles and should consult their local dealer.”

Gundog Journal is the UK’s only publication dedicated to gundogs and the luxury bi-monthly title is for everyone who works, owns or has an interest in these dogs. The editorial team, publisher and contributors are as passionate about gundogs as the readers.

Each issue contains editorial packed with expert advice on everything from puppy training and veterinary care, to basic handling and top-level competitions. Contributors include some of the UK’s most respected trainers, vets, behavioural specialists and breeders, to bring readers a true celebration of man’s best friend in the field through thought-provoking opinion and comment.

Fieldsports press publisher Simon K Barr explained: “Now into our third wonderful year and 13th issue since we launched Gundog Journal in March 2019, we are honoured to become a media partner with The Game Fair for gundog-related, activities together with sponsorship of the new and exciting Working Test.

“We love meeting our readers and other passionate gundog enthusiasts face to face and The Game Fair will be the first chance we have had to do this for a very long time. We cannot wait to attend. You’ll find us on Gunmakers Row with our sister title Fieldsports Journal and we will have a stand in the Gundog Area.”

Meanwhile, Sporting Saint will once again be providing its Sport GrousePro Quad Remote Launcher along with 200 specially made and personalised 1lb dummies and game bags to be used in the qualifiers and other gundog events.

Managing director Pip Jones said: “We are thrilled to be working with The Game Fair, which has always promoted the country lifestyle as well as making a fantastic effort to promote gundogs.”
