Simon Reinhold, who currently handles operations at Holts Auctioneers, has been in and around the gun trade for over 25 years.

He grew up chasing his meals in Norfolk and this fostered his obsession with wild sport, especially pigeon shooting. There then followed a developing passion for vintage guns which first found an outlet working in Bonhams Gun department.

After that came his first stint at Holts Auctioneers before moving into retail managing as a gunroom manager. He then spent a decade working for the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, latterly as regional director for eastern England before returning to Holts as head of operations.

Simon has been lucky enough to have caught marlin on both sides of Africa and continues to stalk, fish and shoot all over the world when the opportunity arises. He also writes about his experiences on his blog www.simonreinhold.co.uk and is a regular columnist for the Shooting Times and others.

Simon said: “As well as being a fantastic place to catch up with friends from all over the world, The Game Fair is the showcase for the British gun trade – it has been greatly missed but we are looking forward to getting back into the swing with our presence this year.”
