Our series highlighting key players in the trade continues with Rob Fenwick, the managing director of top shooting ground E J Churchill, which is once again running the Shoot Line this year at The Game Fair.

Rob Fenwick celebrates 20 years at EJ Churchill this year, having started out at the bottom as an events organiser before working his way through the ranks to become managing director.

He said: “I love my job and this industry, mainly because of the people and the sport. It is ‘full on’ here and there isn’t much time for hobbies outside of shooting.

“However, I used to love playing rugby until I got old, slow and couldn’t put my socks on after a match day. So I have now started racing cars instead – a clear sign of a mid-life crisis my wife tells me!! Although it’s a very smart one, which we sponsor. It will be on the stand at The Game Fair this year, so come and have a look at it!

“We love The Game Fair and everything about it.  We have always been involved, for over 30 years.

“Every year we try to think of fun ways to reinvent our stand and make it a real destination for our clients and welcoming for new people who want to come and visit.

“A few years ago we were asked to run the shooting line and so this makes it a very major event for us. We love doing it and seeing everyone get involved with shooting.

“I know that our industry is better for having this show and hope everyone gets behind it. The only bad thing about it is I always lose my voice after every show, so please don’t ring to talk to me for a few days afterwards!”
