Tweedl continues to offer a winning experience

Since its launch late last year, competition platform Tweedl has become hugely popular, thanks to its compelling prizes covering amazing experiences in the field and at some of the most prestigious events.

As The Game Fair prepares to launch a major competition with the platform, TGF Trade News caught up with co-founder Sam Hargeaves to find out more…

TGF: Since your launch, Tweedl appears to have taken the industry by storm, what are you aiming to achieve?

Sam Hargreaves: My co-founder Dan Collinson and I actually came up with idea last July, in the middle of the pandemic and launch on November 28th.

Our aim is to promote all aspects of fieldsports within the UK and internationally, showing them in the best light possible, working with a lot of famous, well-known brands and individuals. Our prizes cover all areas of fieldsports, from shooting and fishing to stalking, among others.

I have spent my whole life shooting so I really wanted to make a positive impact and create more exposure for the sport, especially at such a critical time.

We wanted to create a platform that would enable enthusiasts and members of the public from all financial backgrounds to have the chance to win amazing experiences in field and motor sports at the very best venues with leading brands or manufacturers.

TGF: Have you attended The Game Fair historically?

SH: I used to come every year – The Game Fair is a big hurrah for the whole industry, the fieldsports community and countryside folk.

The buzz of The Game Fair is unlike any other, it’s really exciting to be around and we are specially looking forward to attending this year for the first time as an exhibitor.

TGF: As a new company, why do you feel it is important to attend The Game Fair as an exhibitor?

SH: It was our goal from word go, it’s a chance for us to meet our key clients and The Game Fair audience, which represent the whole fieldsports community.

We will be catching up with winners and brands we are working with, not to mention increasing our brand awareness, which is critical to expanding.

We are very much media/online based presently, so The Game Fair presents one of the few opportunities this year to meet an audience face-to-face.

TGF: What can The Game Fair audience expect to see on your stand?

SH: We will be running up to four competitions on the stand, over the course of The Game Fair weekend. Visitors will be able to purchase tickets on the Tweedl stand and have a chance of winning an array of wonderful prizes. We have some really exciting collaborations with top brands in the works, including offering a competition to win a new 4×4. Come meet us over a draft pint or a glass of Pimm’s at our free bar.

TGF: To date, what would you say has been your biggest success story?

SH: There are a few, to be fair. We sold out up to seven competitions in less than 24 hours – one was for 10,000 Gamebore cartridges of the winner’s choice, a pair of Mirokus, a Blaser and a day’s pigeon shooting with Andy Crow.

TGF: What else are you most looking forward to at the show this year?

SH: I am a fan of all the features – The Game Fair allows every visitor the chance to explore so many different aspects within fieldsports, from Gunmakers’ Row to the Optics Village, Gundog rings, falconry, fishing and many more.

We work very closely with E. J. Churchill, who will, once again, be providing the Shooting Line, we are hoping to have a competition with them over the course of The Game Fair weekend. Watch out for updates here.
