Wild game set for Christmas menu

With concerns over turkey supplies this Christmas, it’s time to pick a more interesting festive centrepiece – wild game.

And that’s now easier than ever, with specialist supplier Wild and Game launching its range of game-focused festive hampers, three of which include a duck, turkey and guinea fowl three bird roast (the fourth has a goose).

Other treats include game pigs in blankets, game charcuterie, traditional water crust game pies and a host of other luxuries, such as muntjac legs, venison Wellingtons, game pâtés and artisan British cheeses.

The hampers are designed to see two to four people through Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and beyond, offering everything from savoury spreads to hearty dinners.

They are available to order now for delivery between December 12 and December 23.

Founded in 2017, Wild and Game is a leader in the growing market for game, which many people are embracing as a more interesting alternative to the usual supermarket options, as well as having relatively low food miles and being lower in fat and higher in protein than farmed meats.

Wild and Game co-founder Steven Frampton said: “We’ve really pushed the boat out with this year’s hampers, packing in more products than ever before. The aim is to bring a touch of luxury and something a bit different to people’s festive dinner tables. Wild game is in season at Christmas time, making this the perfect opportunity to enjoy it in everything from hearty pies to extravagant roasts.”
