Rural organisations have condemned the Scottish Government’s announcement that it is to develop a licensing scheme for grouse moors, saying it will be a seriously damaging blow to fragile rural communities. Mid-Wales sporting estate Bettws Hall has given £59,185 to the NHS Charities Together fund, which was the proceeds of a raffle to win a day’s shooting. In response to the Covid-19 outbreak, a short-term fundraising initiative called Game Aid has been launched to deliver free game meat based meal bags to frontline NHS workers in the country’s hour of need.
